What is Off Brush? (Simple Guide for Beginners to Know)

So, I wanted to try this “off brush” thing I saw online. It looked kinda cool and I figured, why not give it a shot?

Getting Started

First, I grabbed an old toothbrush. Didn’t want to use a good one, obviously. I also got some paint – just some regular acrylic stuff I had lying around. Nothing fancy.

The Process

I dipped the toothbrush into the paint, making sure not to get too much on there. Then, the tricky part: I held the toothbrush over my paper and flicked the bristles with my thumb. It took a few tries to get the hang of it. At first, I got these big globs of paint, not the cool, spattered effect I was going for.

  • First try: Total mess. Big blobs everywhere.
  • Second try: Still too much paint. Smaller blobs, though.
  • Third try: Getting better! Starting to see some actual splatter.

I kept practicing, trying different amounts of paint and different flicking motions. I even tried holding the toothbrush at different angles. It was kinda fun, actually, just messing around and seeing what happened.

The Result

Finally, I started to get the hang of it. I got this nice, even splatter effect, with tiny little dots of paint all over the place. It looked pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. I even added some different colors, layering them on top of each other. It ended up looking like a galaxy or something.

All in all, it a pretty neat trick to get this splatter effect, will use it again sometime.
