Making a Plan

I narrowed it down to a few spots that sounded the most interesting. One was a drive-through light show at a local park, which seemed easy enough. Another was a neighborhood known for going all-out with decorations, which sounded fun but maybe a little crowded. And then there was the zoo’s “Zoo Lights” event, which sounded like it could be cool, but also might involve a lot of walking, haha.

The Adventure Begins

I decided to go for the drive-through light show first. Figured it would be a good way to start the evening. So, I loaded up the car with some snacks, grabbed a warm drink, and headed out.

Getting there was pretty easy. I followed the signs to arrive at the light show location.

The Light Show

It was pretty cool! There were tons of lights, all synchronized to music you could tune into on your car radio. We drove through tunnels of lights, saw giant Christmas trees made of lights, and even spotted some light-up animals. The kids loved it, and honestly, I thought it was pretty neat too.

Exploring the Neighborhood

After the drive-through show, I decided to check out that neighborhood I’d read about. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be amazing. It’s very interesting, I found many amazing and creative light shows.

Houses were decked out with lights, inflatables, and all sorts of decorations. I even saw a few houses with projections on them, like Santa’s sleigh flying across the roof. I parked the car and we walked around for a bit, just taking it all in. It was definitely worth the stop.

Wrapping Up

By the end of the night, I had seen a lot of Christmas lights. It was a fun little adventure, and I’m glad I made the trip. If you’re ever in Waco, Texas, during the holidays, I’d definitely recommend checking out the lights. Just remember to bring some snacks and maybe a warm blanket if you plan on walking around!
