Okay, so I’ve been meaning to check out this Vain Salon in Ballard, and today was finally the day. I’d heard good things, you know, the usual “great stylists,” “cool vibe,” that sort of thing. But I’m always a little skeptical until I try a place myself.
First things first, I needed to scope it out. I hopped on my phone, did a quick search. Found their details, made a mental note of the location – gotta love having a smartphone, right?

Next, I booked an appointment. This was easy peasy, could do it right at the moment.
The Big Day
Today’s the day! I walked in, and I gotta say, the place looked pretty sharp. Not too over-the-top fancy, but definitely had a clean, modern feel. I checked in, and they told me my stylist would be right with me.
While I waited, I took a look around. They had some cool products on display, and the whole place just felt… calm. Which is exactly what I need when I’m getting my hair done.
My stylist, Sarah, came over, and we chatted for a bit about what I wanted. I’m not always the best at explaining these things, but she totally got it. We decided on a trim, and a texturizing style, and nothing too drastic.
- The Cut: She was super precise, taking her time and making sure everything was even. No rushing, which I appreciated.
- The Styling: She used some kind of texturizing spray, and it gave my hair some really nice volume without making it feel stiff or sticky.
- The Chat: We just had a good, easy conversation. Nothing forced, just friendly and relaxed.
Honestly, the whole experience was great. My hair looks and much healtier, I felt comfortable the entire time, and Sarah was a total pro. It’s the kind of cut I can easily style in the morning.
I paid, left a tip, and walked out feeling pretty darn good. Definitely going back to Vain Salon next time I need a haircut.
