Teneriffe Falls Trail: Complete Info & Amazing Views!

Okay, here’s my blog post about my hike on the Teneriffe Falls Trail:

So, I finally got around to checking out the Teneriffe Falls Trail the other day. I’d heard it was a pretty good workout with a killer waterfall at the end, and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint!

Getting Started

I headed out early on a Saturday morning, figuring I’d beat the crowds. The trailhead was easy enough to find, just followed the directions I found online. There’s a decent-sized parking lot, but I can see how it would fill up fast on a nice day. I made sure to pack plenty of water, some snacks, and my trusty hiking boots.

The Climb

Right from the get-go, this trail starts climbing. It’s not crazy steep or anything, but it’s definitely a steady uphill. I took my time, pacing myself and enjoying the scenery. The forest is really pretty, lots of tall trees and that nice, woodsy smell. I even saw a few squirrels and chipmunks scampering around.

After maybe an hour or so, the trail got a bit rockier. There were some sections where I really had to watch my step, and I was glad I had good ankle support. I passed a few other hikers along the way, some going up, some coming down. Everyone was pretty friendly, lots of “good mornings” and “how’s it goings”.

The Falls

I could hear the falls before I could see them. That rushing water sound got louder and louder as I got closer. And then, bam! I rounded a corner and there it was – Teneriffe Falls, in all its glory. Seriously, this thing is huge! The water cascades down from way up high, and there’s a big pool at the bottom.

I found a nice spot on some rocks near the falls to sit down, eat my lunch, and just soak it all in. The mist from the falls was super refreshing, especially after the climb. I probably spent a good hour there, just relaxing and enjoying the view. There are many big rocks near the falls. I even took some cool photos.

The Way Back Down

Eventually, I knew it was time to head back. The hike down was definitely easier on the lungs, but I still had to be careful on those rocky sections. My knees were starting to feel it a bit! I made it back to the parking lot in pretty good time, feeling tired but accomplished.

Overall, I’d say the Teneriffe Falls Trail is a great hike. It’s a good challenge, but not too crazy, and the waterfall is totally worth it. Just be prepared for some uphill, wear good shoes, and bring plenty of water. You won’t regret it!
