Okay, so I needed a place to crash in Seattle, and I was looking for something downtown, not too fancy, but not a total dive either. I’d heard about the Red Lion Hotel, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I started by, you know, just Googling it – “Seattle Red Lion Hotel downtown”.
The first thing I did was look at pictures, lots of pictures. I wanted to check out the rooms, see if the beds looked comfy, and get a general feel for the place.

Checking Out the Amenities
Next, I scrolled through their amenities list. Did they have free Wi-Fi? That’s a must these days. Parking? Always a big question in a city. A gym? Well, maybe I’d use it, maybe I wouldn’t, nice to have the option. I find it better to have than not to have you know.
- Free Wi-Fi – Check!
- Parking – Yep, but it said it cost extra.
- Gym – looked basic, but good enough.
Reading Some Reviews
Then came the real test – the reviews. I skipped past the overly enthusiastic ones and the ones that were just plain angry. I was hunting for the ones in the middle, the ones that seemed balanced and honest. Some folks complained about the noise from the street, others praised the location, so I made my own conclusions. I figured I’d take my chances, and hope for a quiet room.
Making the Booking
Once I felt I’d done enough digging, I went ahead and booked a room. I chose my dates, picked a room type that looked decent, and entered my payment info. Boom. Done. The whole proccess was actually very easy and self explanatory.
My Stay at Red Lion
I arrived at the hotel, and I checked in. The lobby was okay, not super modern, but clean. The staff was friendly enough, and the check-in process was quick. I got my key, and headed up to my room.
The room itself was…fine. It was clean, the bed was reasonably comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked. I did hear some street noise, but it wasn’t terrible. I unpacked my stuff, settled in, and then went out to explore the city.
Overall, my experience at the Red Lion Hotel downtown Seattle was pretty much what I expected. It wasn’t the fanciest place I’ve ever stayed, but it was clean, conveniently located, and the price was right. I would stay there again if I needed a place in downtown Seattle and the prices were reasonable enough.
