Okay, so I wanted to figure out what kinds of scorpions we have here in Texas. I’ve seen a few around my property, and honestly, they kinda freak me out, so I figured I’d do some digging and learn a bit more about them. Maybe knowing more would make them less scary, right?

Digging Deeper

I spent a little time clicking around. It turns out there’s some decent info out there about Texas scorpions. I discovered that not all are same.

  • Striped bark scorpion: Seems like this is the most common one. the most common scorpion in Texas and, in fact, is found state-wide,They’re yellowish-tan with dark stripes.
  • Other scorpion: The other scorpions in Texas are primarily found in the western portion of the state.

Putting It All Together

So, after all this, I feel a little better. I mean, I still don’t want to find a scorpion in my shoe, but at least now I have a better idea of what I’m dealing with. Mostly, it’s going to be those striped bark scorpions, and while they can sting, it’s probably not going to be the end of the world. I guess. Still gonna be careful, though!
