Alright, so I wanted to stay on top of what’s happening in Pecos, TX. I don’t live there anymore, but I’ve still got family and friends in the area, so I like to know what’s going on. I’m going to describe how to keep update.
First thing I did was just open up my regular old browser. Nothing fancy. I avoid specialized news apps because they usually have some agenda. I like to come to my own conclusions.

Then I started with a simple search, you know, just typed in “Pecos TX news”. I like to do this broad, basic search at first to see what pops up.
What Came UP?
- Local News Websites: Right at the top, there were a couple of links to the local Pecos newspaper.
- Facebook pages Some folks were posting and sharing news type stuff.
Digging Deeper
Then, I try to refining my searches. I added in some specific words that would filter out some of the less relevant search result. So, for example, if I was curious about any recent town council meetings, I’d type in “Pecos TX city council”.
I spent a good 30 minutes just clicking around, reading articles, and seeing what was being discussed. It’s kind of like being a digital detective, piecing together the current story of the town from these different sources.
My takeaway
I’ve realized that it’s better to check multiple * using the simple method I described above, I can usually get a decent snapshot of what’s happening in Pecos without too much hassle.
