Need Animal Services? (Park City Animal Control Guide)

Okay, so today I had a bit of a situation with a… let’s just say, a “furry friend” in my backyard. It wasn’t my pet, and it wasn’t exactly welcome. I’m in Park City, so I figured it was time to learn about Park City Animal Control. Here’s how the whole thing went down.

The Discovery

First thing this morning, I went out to my backyard to water my plants. That’s when I saw it – a pretty big raccoon just chilling by my bird feeder, looking way too comfortable. It wasn’t running, it just looked to me.

The Initial Panic

My first thought? “Oh crap.” I didn’t know what to do. I certainly wasn’t going near it. I backed away slowly, making sure I kept my distance.

Getting Help

I grabbed my phone and started searching. “Park City Animal Control.”

Making the Call

I found the number. I dialed it, my hands a little shaky. The person on the other end was actually really calm and helpful (thank goodness!). I explained the situation – raccoon, in my yard, not leaving. They asked me a few questions about the animal’s behavior: Was it acting strangely? Did it look sick? I told them it seemed pretty normal, just… bold.

Waiting and Watching

They told me an officer would be out as soon as possible. So, I waited. And I watched. From inside, of course! I kept an eye on the raccoon, making sure it didn’t wander off somewhere I couldn’t see it. It was mostly just munching on birdseed, the little bandit.

The Officer Arrives

About an hour later, an Animal Control officer showed up. They were super professional. They assessed the situation, had a special cage thing, and went to work.

Problem Solved!

It took a little while, but they managed to safely capture the raccoon. They explained to me that they would relocate it to a more suitable area, away from homes. I was so relieved!

All in all, a bit of a wild morning, but it all worked out. Big thanks to Park City Animal Control for their help! I hope I won’t be needing them again anytime soon, but it’s good to know they’re there.
