Okay, so today I wanted to check out some local music stores. I’ve been meaning to get back into playing guitar, and I figured a trip to a real, live music store might just be the inspiration I needed. Plus, you know, supporting local businesses and all that good stuff.
Hitting Up the Local Music Scene
First, I grabbed my phone and did a quick search. “Music stores near me” was the obvious choice, and honestly, that worked pretty well. The search results spit back a bunch of options, but I was mostly interested in places in Port Angeles, since that’s where I was headed.

I found a few promising candidates.
- I found one.
- I see one more.
- I think that’s all.
I picked one that looked promising and decided to give it a shot.
The In-Store Experience
Walking in, I was immediately hit with that “music store smell” – you know, that mix of wood, polish, and maybe a hint of old strings? It’s a good smell, trust me. The place was pretty well-stocked. Lots of guitars hanging on the walls, a decent selection of amps, and even a few keyboards and drums tucked away in the back.
I spent some time just browsing, checking out the different guitars. They had everything from beginner acoustics to some pretty fancy electrics. I even strummed a few chords on a couple, just to get a feel for them. It was fun, even though I’m super rusty.
The staff was cool, too. They weren’t pushy at all, just let me do my thing. Eventually, I chatted with one of the guys about needing some new strings and maybe a tuner. He pointed me in the right direction, and I ended up grabbing a few things.
Wrapping Up
All in all, it was a good trip. Didn’t walk out with a brand new guitar (yet!), but I definitely got that little spark of motivation I was looking for. Plus, it felt good to support a local business. I’ll probably head back there soon to pick up some more supplies, and who knows, maybe I’ll finally be ready to pull the trigger on that new guitar.
