Okay, so the other day, I was thinking about whether I could just leave my dryer running while I dashed out to the store. I mean, it’s tempting, right? Just let it finish up while you’re gone. But then I started wondering if it was actually safe.
My Little Experiment
I decided to do a little digging. I didn’t want to just guess; I wanted to know for sure. My plan was simple to conduct an observation.

Step 1: The Prep Work
- First, I made sure my dryer was clean. Lint buildup is a major fire hazard, so I cleaned out the lint trap thoroughly.
- I also checked the vent outside to make sure it wasn’t blocked.
Step 2: The Test Run
- I put in a small load of laundry – just some towels. Nothing that could easily catch fire.
- I set the dryer to a normal cycle, nothing too hot or too long.
Step 3: Observation
- I have found the answer on internet, It’s big NO!
- I stayed at home, of course, and set myself to my computer to observe it.
What I Realized
It’s just not worth the risk. Seeing that made me realize how quickly things could go wrong. A small spark, some lint, and boom – you’ve got a house fire.
So, from now on, I’m making sure the dryer is off before I leave the house. It’s a simple rule, but it could save my home, and that’s way more important than getting the laundry done a little faster.I’ve decided – and I strongly suggest you do the same – to only run the dryer when I’m home and awake.
