Okay, so I heard about this “ZoomInfo class action settlement” thing and, honestly, I was curious. I use ZoomInfo sometimes for work, so I figured I should probably check it out. Figured I’d walk you guys through what I did.
Digging In
First, I just did a simple search for “ZoomInfo class action settlement”. I wanted to see what this was all about. Turns out, it’s about some claims that ZoomInfo was, like, selling people’s info without them really knowing or agreeing to it. Sounds kinda sketchy, right?

Finding the Official Info
I found a few news articles, but I wanted something more, you know, official. I stumbled upon a website it looked legit. It had all the details about the settlement, who’s affected, and what your options are.
I read through this website. And found the key points here:
- Who’s Included? Basically, if you were a US resident and ZoomInfo had your info in their database between certain dates, you’re probably part of the “class,” meaning you’re affected by the settlement.
- What are my options? This is the important part. You can basically do nothing, submit a claim to get some money, exclude yourself from the settlement (meaning you keep the right to sue them separately), or object to the settlement if you think it’s unfair.
- Deadlines, Deadlines! I found that there are deadlines for everything! If you want to submit a claim, exclude yourself, or object, you have to do it by a certain date. I made a note of these so I didn’t forget.
Making My Decision
After browsing through the website, I realized I was probably part of the class. ZoomInfo definitely had my info at some point. So, I had a decision to make. Do I want to bother with this?
I thought about just ignoring it, but then I figured, hey, maybe I can get a few bucks out of it. Might as well submit a claim, right? It didn’t seem too complicated.
Submitting a claim
I looked for the section on submitting a claim, and it’s just write some of my basic info.
Filled it out. I’ll see what happens. Maybe I’ll get a check in the mail someday. Who knows? Anyway, that’s my experience with this whole ZoomInfo settlement thing. It wasn’t as confusing as I thought it would be, but it definitely pays to, like, actually read the information.
