Okay, so I’ve been meaning to check out this place called “The Auberge at Onion Creek” for ages. It’s supposed to be this super cute, rustic bed and breakfast out in the Texas Hill Country. Finally, I booked a weekend getaway, and here’s how it all went down.
Getting Started
First things first, I hopped online and did some digging. I wanted to see some real-life photos, not just the fancy ones on their website.I found some pictures to get the general information.

The Drive and First Impressions
The drive out there was pretty relaxing. Lots of open road, bluebonnets everywhere (it was springtime, y’all!), and that fresh country air. When I pulled up to the Auberge, I was immediately charmed. It’s this collection of adorable little cottages, all nestled around trees and, of course, Onion Creek itself.
I checked in – super easy, the staff was so friendly – and got the key to my cottage. I think it was called the “Bluebonnet” or something equally Texan. I opened the door, and it was just as cozy as I’d hoped! Stone fireplace, comfy-looking bed, and a little porch with rocking chairs. Sold!
Exploring and Relaxing
- I spent the afternoon just wandering around the property. I walked down to the creek, dipped my toes in (brrr, still a little chilly!), and just soaked up the peace and quiet.
- Later, I curled up on the porch with a book and a glass of sweet tea. It was heavenly. No city noise, no distractions, just the sound of birds chirping and the wind rustling through the trees.
- They have table, I sat down and enjoyed it.
The Food!
Okay, the breakfast part of “bed and breakfast” is crucial, right? And The Auberge did NOT disappoint. The next morning, I went to main house, and they had this amazing spread laid out. Fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon… the works! I definitely ate my fill. I remember I also tried their special homemade jam, which tastes really good.
Wrapping Up
Sadly, the weekend came to an end way too fast. I packed up my bags, feeling totally refreshed and recharged. Checking out was just as smooth as checking in.I said goodbye to the manager.
I drove away, already planning my next visit. The Auberge at Onion Creek? Yeah, it’s definitely worth the hype. If you’re looking for a quiet, charming, and delicious getaway, this is your place.
I highly recommend checking it out!
