Okay, so I wanted to get a good list of biotech companies in Bothell, Washington. I’ve heard it’s a bit of a hub, and I was curious about what’s going on there.
First, I fired up my trusty search engine. Nothing fancy, just a straightforward search.

My Simple Search Process
- Started with a broad search: “biotech companies Bothell WA”. Pretty basic, right?
- Scanned the first few results. I was looking for anything that looked like a directory or a list, not just individual company websites.
- Found some promising results, but also a lot of, you know, general business listings and things that weren’t quite what I was looking for.
- Narrowed it down. I started adding keywords like “directory” or “list” to my search to try to filter out the noise.
I spent a good chunk of time clicking through different websites. Some were helpful, others… not so much. There was a lot of jumping around, going down rabbit holes, and then realizing I was on the wrong track. I kept refining my search terms as I went, trying to get more specific results.
After the searching stage, I started to make a list using spreadsheet, putting all company names together.
Finally, I had a decent list! It’s not exhaustive, I’m sure, but it’s a good starting point. It definitely took longer than I expected, though. There’s a lot of information out there, and sifting through it all to find exactly what you need can be a real challenge.
