Alright, so the other day, I needed to find a new spot for my little operation. My business has been blowin’ up (good problem to have, I know!), and my current “office” (aka my spare bedroom) just wasn’t cutting it anymore. I needed a real, actual office space. And since I’m based in Cleveland, that’s where I started looking.
The Hunt Begins
First, I tried to figure out about the * much money I can pay for the rent for one month.
Then,I jumped online. I figured, “Hey, it’s the 21st century, everything’s online, right?” So I spent a good few hours, just Googling stuff. You know, “Cleveland office space,” “office rentals near me,” all that jazz.
I found some decent looking options. I like them very much.
I bookmarked a bunch of places that looked promising. A few downtown, some in the suburbs, you know, trying to get a feel for the different areas and what kind of vibe they had.
Boots on the Ground
Next up, I decided it was time to actually, you know, see these places in person. So I started reaching out to places, scheduling some visits. This was a bit of a pain, playing phone tag, trying to coordinate schedules, the usual.
I put on my “serious business person” hat (it’s actually just a regular baseball cap, but whatever) and started touring offices. Some were pretty cool, modern, open-plan type deals. Others were… well, let’s just say they were a little more “traditional,” which is code for “outdated and kinda depressing.”
Some key things I was looking for:
- Good lighting: Nobody wants to work in a dungeon.
- Enough space: Duh. Needed room for my team (even if it’s just a small team for now).
- Decent parking: Because fighting for parking every morning is a soul-crushing experience.
- A good location: Close to coffee shops and lunch spots, naturally. Priorities.
Making a Decision
After a few days of this, I narrowed it down to a couple of places that I really liked. One was a bit smaller, but in a super cool, up-and-coming neighborhood. The other was bigger, a little more corporate-feeling, but had amazing views of the city.
Ultimately, I went with the smaller one. It just felt… right. The vibe was good, the people I met were friendly, and I could see myself and my team being happy there. Plus, it was closer to my favorite coffee shop. Win-win!
