Okay, so the other day I was craving In-N-Out, but I’m trying to eat more plant-based. I was like, “Can I even do this? Is there a secret vegan menu I don’t know about?” So, I jumped online to do some digging.
I found some posts, and it seemed kinda bleak at first. I mean, In-N-Out is all about the burgers, right? But then I started to see some possibilities.

My In-N-Out Vegan Experiment
- First, I ditched the obvious: no meat, no cheese, no spread (apparently, it’s got mayo in it).
- Then, I loaded up on everything else: lettuce, tomato, onion (I got ’em grilled, which is key!), and pickles.
- I ordered a “veggie burger”, which is basically everything above, served in a bun.
- I added ketchup and mustard packets to the burger.
- For sides, I got the fries. I saw on some forums that In-N-Out fries are cooked in sunflower oil, so that seemed safe.
So, how did it go? Honestly, it wasn’t bad! It wasn’t a mind-blowing, super-filling vegan meal, but it definitely scratched that In-N-Out itch. The grilled onions made a big difference – they added a ton of flavor.
The fries were, well, In-N-Out fries – crispy and perfect. I dipped those fries in ketchup.
Would I do it again? Yeah, probably! If I’m with friends and that’s where we’re going, I know I can make it work. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s definitely doable.
