Okay, here’s my blog post about my little AirTag sticker experiment:
So, I got myself a couple of AirTags a while back, you know, to keep track of my keys and stuff. I tossed one in my backpack, no problem. But then I thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool to stick these things onto other stuff, like my bike or maybe even my skateboard?”

I looked online, and, sure enough, there are tons of fancy cases and holders. But, honestly, I didn’t wanna spend a bunch of money on something that seemed like it should be super simple. I just wanted a way to stick the dang AirTag onto something!
My DIY Approach
I started rummaging through my drawers. First, I tried some regular double-sided tape. Big mistake! It barely held for a minute, and the AirTag just popped right off. Clearly, that wasn’t gonna cut it.
Then I remembered I had some of those heavy-duty, like, industrial-strength double-sided adhesive pads. You know, the ones that are kinda foamy and super sticky? I figured those might do the trick.
I cut a small square, a little bigger than the AirTag itself. I cleaned the back of the AirTag with a little rubbing alcohol (just to make sure it was super clean and the adhesive would stick well) and stuck the pad on. Then, I carefully stuck the whole thing onto my bike frame, under the seat where it’s kinda hidden.
The Result
- Pros: It’s been holding on for a few weeks now, even after a couple of bumpy rides! Seems pretty secure. Plus, it was way cheaper than buying a special holder.
- Cons: It’s not exactly pretty. I mean, you can see the adhesive pad if you look closely. Also, I’m not 100% sure how easy it’ll be to remove when the battery eventually dies. Might need some serious elbow grease (or maybe some Goo Gone?).
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this little hack. It’s not perfect, but it does the job, and it didn’t cost me a fortune. If you’re looking for a super simple and cheap way to stick your AirTag onto something, give this a try. Just be prepared for a bit of a sticky situation when it’s time to change the battery!
